Assorted Ramshorn Snails

Ramshorns snails are a medium sized species of freshwater snail named for their curled shells that spiral inward like a rams horn. They breed quickly, though not quite as quickly as pond snails, however they can grow much larger with some elder individuals reaching the size of a nickel. They are often considered a more attractive "pest snail" due to their abundance in different patterns and colors. They can be beneficial to a tank by cleaning up settle detritus and their numbers can be kept in check by snail eating fish. They are often preferred over other snails by fish such as pea puffers.
