Giant Danio (Devario aequipinnatus)

Giant danios are a medium sized fish that can reach a maximum of 6" but generally max out closer to 4". They are a highly active schooling species that can often be seen swarming around the tank with great speed. It's their size and speed coupled with their excellent schooling behavior that allows them to live with other fish that may be significantly more aggressive so long as they aren't far larger. While they are not aggressive, they can outcompete slower smaller fish during feeding and larger individuals will eat other fish such as zebra danios and neon tetras as they are easily fast enough to catch them.
