Florida Flagfish (Jordanella floridae)

The Florida Flagfish is a species of killifish that is named for its native region and the sparkling coloration of the males. They are rather peaceful compared to other Killifish, but they aren't recommended tank mates for smaller fish with flowy fins such as guppies or bettas. Similar to tiger barbs they tend to behave themselves more when in larger groups. They are one of the few species that will eat hair algae. They can tolerate cooler temperatures than other common aquarium fish much like zebra danios, can can be kept in ponds provided they aren't allowed to get too cold.
