Firemouth Cichlid (Thorichthys meeki)

The Firemouth Cichlid, named for the reddish orange coloration around the lower jaw and belly, is a medium sized cichlid reaching around 6" long and living 10 years or more. These fish are typically shy and will enjoy having things to hide in. Like the Blue Acara they will generally leave smaller fish alone so long as they don't fit in its mouth.
